A blank board is worse than an incomplete one. Supervisors would rather see four green lanes and one red “awaiting partner X” than a sheet that never opened.
Design rules we use
- Validate each source independently. Do not wait for the slowest file before writing anything.
- Name the failure. Logs and emails should say which partner or export failed, not “job error.”
- Keep a manual path. If Python cannot run, the desk must still know which files to open by hand.
What we avoid
We avoid building a second “analytics platform” around a morning board. The board’s job is to start the day. Deeper analysis belongs elsewhere, owned by people who have time after the trucks leave.
If your board still collapses when one CSV is late, an Ops Reporting Cleanup engagement is usually the right shape of work.
